If you are after something more powerful then and AVR, using the same
Arduino, IDE but do not need it to be form-factor compatible have a look at
http://www.alvie.com/zpuino/about.html. It is a System-on-a-Chip based on
Zylin's ZPU 32-bit processor core, and runs at around 100MHz.
It can run on the Papilio One board
(http://www.gadgetfactory.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=18,
US$50).
If you find that you don't like the ZPU, an AVR based core is also
available for upload to the board, converting it back to a standard
Arduino.
