Hi...
My current 'junk box' router is small enough to lug around. It's two
PC's plus the router. (one has the stepper driver & power supply in a
PC case).
It's only got a cutting area of 150x200x80mm or there about's and is
made from old printer bits, MDF and alloy extrusion. It's heavy but not
difficult to move. If the meetings are not upstairs I could lug it
along with some software to demo the design to cut process for anyone
not familiar with how the CAD/CAM/CNC world works.
It's a very enticing area of technology to get into, but once you get
off the 'hobby' level hardware wise it quickly becomes an issue best
discussed with your bank manager. I'm currently planning a new machine
and the cost estimates are getting a bit scary.. ;-(
