Thanks Charles! I found the nios Linux version and thought the C
compiler for the nios CPU (or whatever they implement) wasn't much use
without a prior FPGA design... and whatever all those funny names mean,
"quartus" sounds like 40BC to me ;-)
I don't care about the terasic demos if it doesn't work.
I'd be royally interested in their nifty shiny new big colour touchpad
because I'd have a good use for it, but it's US$170 :-(( so I'll think
big but start small.

Very much agree, count me in too. It'll get used somehow.
Btw when I was at school 40/3 was more than 10, make sure you don't pay
more than you share. Happy to send you $$ as soon as you know how much
it is.
