For those who are still curious about Micromouse, here's a link to a 
YouTube video that I got from another mailing list.

The first part of the video is the 'maze solving' stage, where the mouse 
explores the maze to find the centre.  The way the mouse flicks round 
corners is quite startling.  The second part is even more remarkable- once 
the mouse has solved the maze it can go from the start to the centre *very* 
quickly!
