I expect to be there with the micromouse project and a small
maze section, almost untouched since last time but the
prospect of winter evenings should help it along :-)
This $69US AVR board runs Linux and could be very friendly
to robotics applications :

I've been in touch with John McLean at Avnet, he can supply
these in one off quantities for ~125$NZ depending on the
exchange rate at the time.
Here are some links to ultrasonic wind speed measuring
designs which contain useful technology for range finding:

> Hi all,
>
> The next meeting will be at 7:30pm in the Technology Room
> at Science Alive! in one week's time on Wednesday 18
> April.
>
> *** Please note the change of room!! ***
>
> Since we are in a different room, here are the directions
> to get there. Access is still from the rear of the
> Science Alive! building, but we will be using a door
> further west of the Seminar Room (where we usually meet).
> At the back of the building look for the glass window and
> door with a giant Sun drawn on it. This door should be
> unlocked- go in and traverse the room to your left to get
> into the Technology Room through a door half-way along
> the wall. Please do not accidentally go into the Seminar
> Room, there will be another group there this time, and I
> am *assured* our interests do not overlap...
>
> Any questions, please ask.
>
> See you there!
