[mythtvnz] No EPG, what am i doing wrong

No Promises, but I should have some time in the weekend to try it out.
It has been a long time since I put all this together. I am having "fun" trying to remember why I did some of the things in my script. I am very puzzled as to why the check for the dvbsnoop binary is commented out. dvbsnoop is needed and is present on my system, so ...?
I obviously got a bit lazy towards the end as well as there a few things that are hard coded (like the length of the capture file) that should really be variables.
