[mythtvnz] Setting up a new system: tv_grab_nz-py howto?

I have moved house and upgraded my server.

Running ubuntu 12.10 with a DVB-T usb stick.

It seems the generic stuff is working fine out of the box.  But I cannot
get the tv_grab_nz-py to work.

I have it installed in /usr/local/bin.  But....

$  /usr/local/bin/tv_grab_nz-py --configure
INFO - Downloading data from nzepg.org...
ERROR - Invalid data
INFO - Parsing channel data...
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/tv_grab_nz-py", line 210, in <module>
    doc = ElementTree.parse(StringIO(text)).getroot()
TypeError: expected read buffer, NoneType found


And in video sources in mythtv-setup it does not show up as a grabber.

Where to from here?
