[mythtvnz] What is the best MythTV distribution to use?

This may not be relevant.I have just re-installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my  
desktop,after having persistent graphics resolution problems.
The only way I could get it to start from scratch and not use former  
settings was to mark the / and/home partitions for formating.
