OK I got it.
The HDHR Troubleshooting guide states:
"Set to a static IP address in the range of 169.254.x.x (eg. 169.254.1.10)
with a
subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. Leave the gateway blank."
However on the MythTV Network connections GUI I needed to enter 0.0.0.0
into the
Gateway field.
On my netbook the value 0.0.0.0 was entered automatically.
Comminicating OK now :)
