Hardware looks good for a startup 1TB is enough for LiveTV and quite a few
HD recordings. Agree with the NVIDIA comment - the drivers just seem better
integrated with linux, including for HDMI audio - and vdpau is good stuff.

You're also spot on the money comparing the HVR-2210 vs HVR-2200. I have
the 2210, which comes with an unused IR remote. The chipset version of the
2210 needs a patched driver, which requires recompiling everytime my distro
(Arch) releases an updated kernel. Go for the 2200 - essentially the same
card, but works OOTB.

What case are you planning on using?
