[mythtvnz] Installed new storage drive - lost previous recordings

I have fitted a new 1TB HDD to my mythbox.I followed the procedure in this
thread:

to set up the new drive which mounts at boot etc. and has all the folders
(recordings,videos,fanart,trailers,coverart,screenshots,banners,db_backups,livetv)
I can watch live tv record etc.
Apparently,immediately after executing this command: "sudo mount /dev/sdb1
/var/lib/mythtv"
I was unable to access any existing recordings that are still showing on
the recordings list.

Is there any way I can get these back?
