Hi Richard,
Your setup sounds almost identical to mine (down to the HDHomeRun), and the same symptoms. At least I am not alone! Would be happy to report bugs if I knew which part of the system was causing the issue, knowing where to start looking would be a start.
In all the cases I have tired, using VLC to playback the file works fine but I don't remember if it reports the same strange length issues.
Thanks
Mark

I have always experienced the problem with XBMC reporting wrong recording lengths (Freeview Terrestrial), often it will report a 30 minute recording as somewhat over 2 hours, and occasionally it's wildly off for example reporting a recording as more than 200 hours long!

However in these cases I believe there may actually be a problem with the recording as it won't play in other media players either. Possibly a signal strength problem, although my Freeview signal level is reported as around 86% by my HDHomeRun tuner with 100% symbol quality. I don't know what the problem is. If anyone else has more information on this topic I'd be interested to hear as well.
