You could use a wireless AP in bridge mode to extend the coverage of the
wireless tether from your android (this may only support one client, not
sure if android will dish out ip's to multiple clients).
If you have a spare pc (and the time) you could use a firewall distro
that supports a wireless wan link (pretty sure pfSense and Endian allow
this, there are probably others) connect the wan to your android tether
and the lan to switch/wireless and then to clients, firewall handles
dhcp etc and will share internet to connected clients.
Or the super quick and dirty solution if you have access to a WinXP box
(...cough) with wireless (old laptop is ideal) connect wireless to
tether and switch/wireless to lan and on to clients. Use internet
connection sharing (built in to XP and probably most other win versions)
to share internet. This is a very basic version of the firewall option
above. I have a customer who uses this setup for their mobile shop comms
i.e android-->winXP-->switch-->POSpc's and EFT-POS and it serves them well.
Let me know if you need more detail.

Good luck with this. Wish there was more we could do from Auckland other
than donating cash and being gobsmacked at the images and personal
accounts in the media:(
