Hmmm...  My reading of
http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-NOVA-T-500#Firmware suggested
that this was just critical for remote control functionality (which doesn't
apply to my setup), and besides, I had hoped that by now the issues with the
1.20 firmware would be fixed.  However, your link suggests a 64 bit issue as
well (which does apply to my setup).

Since I am otherwise stuck, I will give this a go later this evening.
