On my 0.24 system* Arclight, Childish, Graphite, Mythbuntu, MythCenter, 
MythCenter-wide and Terra all show the current time on the OSD. 
Metallurgy does not.

A bit odd then that you are not seeing it.

*My system is running Ubuntu lucid (have not had a chance to upgrade) 
with the Avenard release repo, currently has packages with version 
number 0.24.0+fixes27299-0ubuntu1
