I'm happily picking up SBS 1,2 and HD. Haven't tried to see if I can get any
other channels. Just using the Sky dish that was installed when I had Sky.

Subject: [mythtvnz] Optus D1 and Australian TV
Gentlepeople,
I have an old Sky dish which I reasonably sure I can get Freeview on, but I
would like to get the Optus D1 Australian channels as well.
Has anyone succeeded in doing this?
Can I do it with an old Sky dish (is it big enough)?
I believe Freeview and Sky are horizontally polarized and the Australian are
vertically polarized. Do I need other hardware, i.e. a new LNB? Will an
ordinary satellite card such as a Nova S, TeVii 420 or Technotrend S-1401
work?
There are 3 freeview DVB-T multiplexes. How many multiplexes will I end up
with if I succeed in getting the Australian channels (SBS and ABC)?
I don't yet have the hardware, I want to work out what I need before I
start.
Thanks.
Brendan
