Did you see the recent thread "Has anyone successfully got an ATI Wonder Remote II to work under myth(buntu) ??"  It features a 
track ball / mouse buttons.  How is it going Douglas?

Also the new series 4 BT TiVo remote looks to have the potential for a following in its own right.
