This is after manually loading the b2c2_flexcop_pci module.  After a reboot
and the default modules, I have only adapter0...

The motherboard is an Asus M2a-vm hdmi (I think)

Yes, I did some research before I purchased and it seemed like the best bet,
so I am somewhat mystified...
