Is PS3 remote the only option here?  I've been hunting for a bluetooth
remote (or indeed a wifi one) for ages and not found one.  I've found
the logitech ir to bluetooth extender but it would be nice to do
straight bluetooth as you get away from the line of sight issues.

A friend of mine found a way to 'convert' his IR remote into a RF one
by buying a special battery which incorporates a RF transmitter which
can detect the signals in the remote and sends them over the air.  The
receiver then converts it back to an IR signal and blasts it at the IR
sensor.  But the former option is more desirable IMHO.
