I'm running an ASUS M3N78PRO on my backend as it has the 8300 Nvidia GPU
onboard so I can run the frontend as well if required. A low power CPU
vendor_id : AuthenticAMD
cpu family : 15
model : 107
model name : AMD Athlon(tm) Dual Core Processor 5050e
stepping : 2
cpu MHz : 1000.000
cache size : 512 KB
with 4Gigs of RAM and 5T of disk in a raid5 array which yields 4T of space
for LVM to split up as required - a separate 160G drive handles the OS.
That, 2 Technisat DVB-S cards, a PVR 150 for the Sky box and a Genius TVGO
USB DVB-T stick draws 80w which includes the Sky box, the UPS and the ADSL
modem :-)
I'm using the on-demand CPU governor so it spends most of its time at 1GHz
per core but will crank up to 2.8GHz if required. I think in some parts of
the world its been superceded by the M4N78pro which still has the 3 PCI
slots for tuners (thats why I bought mine) and the same 8300 graphics bu
the older version can be had here for under $200.
As far as 100M Ethernet and TV3 is concerned - be assured that the
transmission rate is a LOT less than 100M - in fact the whole mux is only
25M if I recall correctly and that includes other channels on top of the
TV3 datastream...
