Well it's certainly off the thread's original topic (although the
thread has slipped off topic some time ago).

But really most equipment these days has an hdmi connector which will
do a full range of modes 1080i and p over 50/60Hz. And most decent
multimedia class video cards have either dvi or hdmi to feed it. Myth
and XBMC can be set up to switch modes to match the source material.

In short why would you feed it an analogue signal?
