Yeah, if you're using one of the MCE remotes then you could map one of
the color buttons or something to switch input, y or c or whatever it
is.

Then just say, "There's a problem with the TV software when it's
recording sometimes it won't let you change channel, if that happens
just hit the blue button and try again" - or something to that effect.
