[mythtvnz] 0.22 odd video playing problem

Hi all, I did a fresh install of Mythbuntu 9.10 over the weekend, not
to many problems.
One very odd problem though, is not being able to play videos if the
metadata has been populated. I think it has something to do with the
storage groups.
I have tried deleting the entry for the videos storage group in
backend setup and adding video directories in the frontend outside of
the storage group videos directory, but with no success.
Videos play fine when there has been no information entered into the
database for them.
All my videos are stored on an external ESATA drive formatted with
NTFS (mounted using ntfs-3g).

Does anyone come across the same problem or have any ideas on how to fix it?

Here are the logs
