What advantage is there with the higher amounts of video card RAM?
Does more RAM still support larger desktop areas, as they used to in the past?

Yes, expensive and if you look carefully the version with 1G RAM only
seems to only allocate 128M to the video card, the one with 2G seems
to allocate 256.
If you install more than 1Gig , then 256MB will be allocated according to the early test
VDPAU at higher resolutions seems to need 512M. Will this apple work?
Nah, my 8600GT with 256MB can do everything including Advanced 2X on HD material..
