[mythtvnz] Getting remote to work on Ubuntu 8.10 - Hauppauge Nova-T-500

lircd(userspace) ready
accepted new client on /dev/lircd
initializing '/dev/input/irremote'
unable to open '/dev/input/irremote'
caught signal
