I've installed ubuntu from about 7.10, then again at 8.10, and 9.04, I
tried knoppmyth, but the installer borked, the new version is now
LinHES, which also didn't work (XvMC again I think).
I would then try the components individually, but none had enough of
EPG, MPEG acceleration (required for the low powered machine) or DVD
playback running.

I also tried Mythbuntu 9.04, and then again on mythbuntu 9.10.
Mythdora I haven't tried, but I've seen reports that it also has
trouble on this hardware.
If someone on the list here says, yeah that works great out of the
box, I'd give it a go :-)
I'd prefer one of the full OS's so that my always on box can be a more
useful server (DLNA later)
thanks
