I have a Sempron LE-1200 (2.1GHz) which feels about as slow as a 2.8Ghz
Celeron. All HD channels fine in conjunction with my 8500GT. It can only do
one thing at a time though - transcodes are slower than a wet week.


Has a half length, 1 lane PCI Express slot in it.

I know HP do a PCI-e 1x 8400 GS 256MB card which is available in NZ:

I've never used one though so it would be a leap of faith. Also, with the
distributor listing it at $170 for just the card, it would be worth more
than the PC you are considering.

I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the PC if it is in good nick.
