[mythtvnz] Jumpy video follow-up

I have had the same issue with mythbuntu - the log shows skipped video 
frames, but I don't know how to go about fixing this.  Sometimes the 
video goes smoothly, then starts to skip - We save the position, stop 
playback & then resume from the saved position & all is (sometimes) well 
for a while.  Our machine is a 3GHz, with 4G ram & loads of free HDD, it 
has an ATI RADEON 9600 PRO card.. wonder if this is the problem?
