[mythtvnz] Mythweb Music

Hi All

I am running in to a problem trying to find mythweb music client software
for Linux which will happily run behind an authenticating proxy.
VLC is the only one I have found that works (with authentication), but it
asks for a user name and password everytime it changes songs with no option
to remember it.
Is anyone aware of an alternative client that works, or alternatively a way
to make VLC remember the logon details?
