Welcome to this list Bernard.
I'm sure there are a lot more mythtv users in NZ that don't know about the
list either.
Although I'm sure you will agree its a much more stable system than what it
was when you first started. What version did you start with 0.16 or
earlier? Those were fairly crash happy days. Myth is so much more stable
now.
Cheers
Toby

Subject: [mythtvnz] Hi to the list, Here is my Mythtv Setup ..
Hi All,
I have only just found out about the New Zealand Mythtv list after running a
Mythtv system for the last 4 years........
I used to run Myth on a Gentoo box, but now run Mythbuntu 8.04. My setup
includes the following:
1. Two Skystar II satellite cards fed by a pass-all splitter receiving
Freeview.
2. Fairly old now ASUS motherboard with an AMD 2800+ CPU.
3. Additional network card for my internal network
4.Creative XFi Xmod USB stereo sound card.
5. 50W per channel KT88 powered valve amplifier feeding a pair of Mission
speakers
6. Slimserver to feed my music to two SqueezeBoxes around the house.
7. All the above in a Silverstone LC16B-M media case with a quite Zalman
460watt power supply.
8. USB connected StreamZap remote
9. 260G Storage in two drives, one 60G drive for the OS and backup of music
and photo's, and one 200G for my media
10. Hitachi plasma 42" screen
I am happy with the above, but would like to add a RAID5 system of 4 drives
for my media at some point, the case has heaps of storage space for
the drives and is "very" quite, you cannot hear the fans more than a meter
away.....
Cheers,
B M
