[mythtvnz] Matching PVR150 output to DVB-S

Greetings

I'm having trouble matching the outputs of my two tuners. TV1 on Freeview
DVB-S for example displays in full screen on my 16:9 1360x768 TV, which is
connected to my Via Epia box, but something coming off my Sky box via the
PVR-150 s-video input always requires fiddling with the 'Fill' option. On
my server box, the PVR-150 recordings always seem to 'auto-fill' - it
doesn't do it with mplayer but it does with MythTV (perhaps I'm missing a
setting somewhere).

For example, should I be using the Sky box in letterbox mode? Last time I
tried it made things worse in that as well as bars at the side I got them
top & bottom as well. Should I be matching the Sky box setting to whatever
the hardware encoder profile is set to (eg. 16:9) and it will just sort it
out?

Using mplayer to display the video attributes, here are two typical
recordings - the first is from DVB-S and the other is from the PVR-150.
The obvious difference is the 'aspect' number (3 then 2) but can I change
something in the PVR-150 capture
