[mythtvnz] Skystar 2 on Ubuntu : scan finds no channels?

It seems I am at something of an impasse, not sure where to go from here.
I do not have a set top box, so I cant check my dish, LND or cable...
Getting hold of a sky or freeview set top box just to verify the above seems
like a reasonable move..
My question is: Can I expect to just plug someone else's Sky or Freeview set
top box in and have it work, or will it need further configuration? I.e.,
can I just duck over to the neighbors and try theirs out for an hour?
I am also going to try the card in my XP machine to see if I get any
different results there.
Kind Regards,
Stuart.
