[mythtvnz] High CPU usage decoding 720p

Hi, when decoding the 720p streams from TV1 or TV2 my CPU
usage sits between 60% - 100%, video gets a bit choppy on
100%.
My CPU is a AMDx2 4200, which I thought would have been
powerful enough, so I'm wondering if it is inefficiencies in
the software?
Here are my specs:

AMDx2 4200, frequency scaling = on-demand (working fine)
Mythbuntu 7.10
Nvidia 8500GT + Latest drivers (closed source)
SVN ffmpeg
Mythtv 20.2 + fixes

Any suggestions? am I missing something?
