[mythtvnz] Power Search win - TVNZ guide data lose

Possibly a comment from a naïve newbie...
I havent ventured into custom searches and scripts yet and only use the
Myth UI to record what I see coming up. I tend to find that it catches more
than I ask for and not less, which is a good thing. For instance, I had the
weekly Home and Away catch up scheduled last year (for my daughter you
understand...) and it just started happening after the new year break
without me having to do anything. But it also decided to record the nightly
episodes as well. A bit of a pain to have to delete them, but better to
catch them than miss out isn't it? The same has occurred with other
programmes.
So, am I missing something or is the standard UI better now than it used to
be?
And to one of the other questions in this thread, I reckon the Freeview epg
is more reliable than Sky but maybe that's also an uninformed newbie
comment.

Yep, I used to do that, and then changes like the following lead to
missed recordings
"Brothers and Sisters" vs "Brothers amp Sisters" vs "Brothers & Sisters"
"CSI" vs "Crime Scene Investigations" vs "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
<http://192.168.4.3/mythweb/tv/detail/5002/1202628600>" (Listed this week)
And the habit of appending the episode name to the title rather than
putting this in as an Episode
eg
"Cold Case That Woman
<http://192.168.4.3/mythweb/tv/detail/7035/1202283000>"
I might start looking at running my EIT data through something like
'shephard' which has rules for normalising common program names. This
would simplify rules no end.
Failing that, anyone from TVNZ reading - PLEASE decide on one format =)
