Ahh. You never mentioned that you had a DVB-T card already.
I guess you're stuck with having to transcode to MPEG2 and a smaller
frame size. So you're probably going to be looking at 3GB/hr not
30GB/hr if you want it to play back on the VIA.
You don't say if the VIA is your only frontend, or if the backend is a
combined FE/BE. But I'd be looking at a DVB-S card in this case. I
think it would be better value for money (and time).
It will take some time for the transcoding to complete, during which you
can't watch it on the VIA, and the time spent transcoding is time not
spent comm flagging or playing back if it's a combined FE/BE.
