Mine is a DSR2000 as well - with a homebrew simple IR LED and diode +
resistor off the serial port has be be pretty much in the right place
between the buttons and the card held on with a bit of sticky pad.
Another tip, send a VOL+ in front of the channel change digits in case the
box is in MUTE mode - VOL+ always unmutes whereas a MUTE keypress will
mute it if already unmuted (i.e. its a toggle).
