I have a non-myth box that I put my SkyStar 2 in, just to play around. I
can record two channels at once, its easy:

dvbstream -f 1371 -s 22500 -p h -o 1004 1104 1005 1105 >
/mnt/hda5/dvb/one_two.ts

You can add and subtract PIDS from the stream at will. I haven't tried to
see how many pids it will do before the disk bandwidth craps out. It's al=
l
very manual though.

But as is pointed out in the myth mailing lists, VDR can do it. Has anyon=
e
got VDR up and running in NZ? The docs are rudimentary (I am usre I oculd
understand more about it if I knew German). What I'd love to find is an
english version with a complete install, like knoppmyth
