They don't have enough lock in and control over an open product like MythTV.

For their certified PVRs they can required certain lock downs.

I'm with you with this though Nick. At the end of the day the consumer
doesn't want all of these controls to be applied by the TV companies.
Plus they want something that will do Analogue + Sky (in digital) +
freeview + DVDs + Music etc.
