I've had similar problems with 0.8.1 and 0.8.2 (tearing) on svideo input
especially. I'm back on 0.6.6 (and a 2.6.16 kernel) until I see an answer
to what is going on...
There is a thread in ivtv-dev about an old ioctl that Mythtv uses still
that had a bug - caused memory overwrites - which could of course have
random consequences!
It's fixed in trunk so I may checkout the SVN version and test it.
