We have size constraints, and the power consumption rates of plasma
leave me cold (I'm gonna save the world all by myself by not buying
plasma!).

Oooh! Good to know - thanks. However, we've currently got a 21" - so I
don't think that'll matter ;-)
My primary concern is how well it would play with Linux/MythTV. I have a
HP 20" LCD monitor at work that only runs at 1600x1200, and it was a
real cow to get to work - in the end I needed proprietary nVidia
drivers. I don't want to face that again.
