I finally got around to thinking about this some more and have figured out
what is going on. Sky has a couple of multiplexes on both V and H: 12519 and
12546. When MythTV tunes to TVNZ on 12486H the Sky box gets the H signal for
those frequencies (even though it's trying to tune V). So you should (and I
can) pick up the Sky channels on those transponders at the same time as the
TVNZ signal. When I first tested I happened to only test channels from these
two transponders (the preview channel and Sky Sport 1).
The channels on those transponders are:
12519V/H:
Sky Movies 1
Cartoon Network
Sky News
J2
CTV1
Preview
12546V/H:
Sky Sport 1
History Channel
Living Channel
Playhouse
Food TV
CTV2
CTV3
CTV4
