[mythtvnz] EPG delay

We seem to have developed a problem with our EPG on screen.

We have our MythTV on a Gentoo box working with no problems, especially since 
my son convinced me to leave well enough alone (we have done no updates for a 
couple of months).

All of a sudden it takes 35 seconds for the on-screen EPG to come up - once up 
it seems OK but if you back out and select the EPG again it takes another 35 
seconds to display.

MythWeb EPG works fine.

Any ideas?
