To stay roughly on topic, I found out the other day that MythVideo can
be made to read directly from the file system, rather than you having to
refresh the videos database every time you use it.  I can't believe I
never found this before - it was just a tick box in the setup.  It is
still suboptimal (it takes about 20 sec to scan my entire video
directory when I load it; why can't it do each path as you go into it?),
but it's better than having to go all the way out into the setup menu.

We found this while looking through the source for potential ways to
make it work in a notified update nature. Hopefully I can convince the
programming type flatmates to do more in this regard!
