It's something to do with the Skystar, I can swap the outputs of the splitter 
around quite happily and get the same result (i.e. plugging the Skystar into 
either kills Sky on the other).

I can also plug the input cable directly into the Skystar card (i.e. no 
splitter) and get no signal. I've also got a spare Skystar card and have 
swapped that out too just in case the card died.

So there is possibly some sort of error in my configuration, which is odd as I 
haven't touched it lately.

I've just been playing a little more and Sky works (watching from the second 
STB output) with mythbackend stopped, but cuts out as soon as mythbackend is 
started or I try a dvbtune or something (see output below).
