[mythtvnz] Intro...

Hi, I'm Jamie and based in Wellington although we will be moving to
Auckland early next when my wife transfers with her job (now I just have
to find work up there!).
I've tried unsuccessfully on a number of occassions to get MythTV to work
with Gentoo, Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora. My thinking is that it is because
of the cruddy Philips based Pinnacle TV card I was trying to use so I am
considering getting a Hauppauge card (PVR150MCE probably) and trying
again.
When I do so I will probably try to set it up with Gentoo as this is my
distro of choice and may come back here to ask any (dumb) questions that I
may have.
We;ve got our new 42" plasma being delivered on Saturday morning so
hopefully that will give me the push I need to start working on building a
PVR again.... its just a shame that I killed the motherboard I was going
to use so I have to find a reasonably priced motherboard that will take an
Athlon XP2000+ so I can start over.
