Debian? At some stage Debian was the primary development platform as Isaac
Richards was using this. Since then it has probably changed but there was
great support. I had not used Debian at all before this but found that apt
was a great tool, this would resolve all of your installation dependency
issues. I liked it so much that I still use it on FC2.
Usually I found if I wanted to use the latest CVS version, the easiest way
from a fresh install was to 'apt-get install mythtv-suite' which would give
me the latest rpm install of all the required programs and their
dependencies. I could then 'apt-get remove mythtv-suite' to just delete the
mythtv applications and then checkout the latest CVS to play around with.
These days with so many machines, I just use the latest rpm install, I'm in
no rush for the latest and greatest :)
