BRIGHTON

Workshop with Peter & Alina - fixed partners please

On Saturday 28th June (next Saturday) we have a workshop teaching our Latin
Lover routine - we have performed this at Blackpool, camber, Brighton etc,
it is a mixture of intermediate/advanced jive with drops & seducers.  -
venue is St. Mary's Hall Surrenden Road Brighton 12 till  5.00 Ł20 pp, a few
places are still available.

Hollywood Nights - Modern Jive Dance organised by Peter & Mikey

On Friday 4th July, we have a modern jive themed dance at Hove Town Hall.

It is the same venue used by Phil for his fantastic charity dances.

The cost is Ł10 in advance or Ł12 otd,

or

Ł10 otd for anyone with a dress theme from TV, Movies or Music Stars [from
Spiderman to the Blues Brothers]

There is Ł100 worth of prizes for the best outfits

The Music

The past 12 months have been great for DJ bookings and I would like to thank
everyone for the positive feedback I have been getting

So far this year I have DJ'd at all the major modern jive events including
:-

Bognor, Camber, Stompin, Blackpool, Rockbottoms, MJC, Hipsters etc.

This will be my first dance in Brighton where I get to DJ all night and I
can promise some great music ,

I will play modern and swing  jive music that is perfect for all modern jive
dancers.

The Class

We intended to have a Viagra falls Ice breaker class, however following his
success at Camber, Mikey will be repeating moves from his strictly sinful
repertoire [not for the faint hearted or timid dancer] - the class will end
at 8.45 with non stop freestyle dancing until midnight.

Hastings

Our regular Monday night Hastings class at William Parker School, Parkstone
Road is still running with a choice of classes from beginners introduction
to advanced, the venue is fantastic with two big dance areas, (and separate
hall for private tuition) both floors are perfect for dancing (the cleaners
have stopped waxing the lower level now!)

There is plenty of seating a licensed bar and probably the best sound system
in any venue on the south coast.

Cost is only Ł5 and there is now a FREE beginners introduction lesson EVERY
week which is available for all dancers whether it is their first night or a
return visit after a long break, so if you have not been dancing for a while
or have friends interested in starting then please join us at every Monday

Doors open 7.30

Refresher class of previous weeks routine and dance clinic [tips & advise on
lead follow technique etc.] 7.40 till 8.00

Beginners introduction 8.00 to 8 30

Freestyle dancing or new beginners practice 8.30

Intermediate lesson 9.00(ish) to 9.30

Advanced techniques on intermediate class 9.30

Private lessons with either Peter, Alina or Maria in separate hall available
between 7 & 7.30 or 9.00 and 10.30 [please book in advance]

Eastbourne

The Garden Party August 24th noon till midnight

[The bank holiday weekend]

If you have never been before ask those that have, it is awesome! - 12 hours
of non stop dancing, games, chill out, food, drink, bouncy castles, marquee,
games, separate modern Jive salsa and swing dance areas + Mike Liston
cooking the best BBQ food anywhere

This is now one of the biggest outdoor modern jive events and we are hoping
for 400 dancers this year

[250 last year]  - all in my [very large] back garden at :-

33 St. Anthonys Avenue Eastbourne East Sussex

No advance tickets just turn up come rain come shine.

All for Ł10 pp Ł5 kids and Ł5 evening dance only, after 8.00pm

[Sarah has a dance in Eastbourne on Saturday so why not make a weekend of it
on the south coast]

It seems that everyone is making a video at the moment.

After promising to make a drops and seducers video for years, at last we
have got it finished.

There are 3 videos or DVD's each over 1 hour long  with nearly 100 of our
most popular moves and variations, each suitable for beginners & advanced
dancers.

The Video's retail at Ł15 each or Ł40 for the set of three +p&p

The DVD's  will be Ł20 each Ł50 for set of three +p&p

Note Steve has managed to come in under budget on the production costs and
we been able to reduce the original cost, anyone who has over paid please
contact me and I will refund you. - thanks Steve.

The video's are available for other organisers on a sale or return basis -
please contact me.
