Here's my review of the last holiday sent 22/10/02
I've just returned from a week's tennis and dance holiday in Mabella or=
ganised by local entertainer Paul Weaver which is more than worthy of a=
mention on this list. It was great fun. 16 people went of which about =
8 were regular Jive dancers. The weather
was comparable to the best of the weather this summer in England, with =
temperatures around 28C. We stayed at El Casco tennis club were the cos=
t was =A3199 + =A3109 flights for a week sharing a 2 bed chalet (cheape=
r for non tennis players). Day format was
10am-12am tennis lessons + 1 hour tennis can be booked per person. Alth=
ough we had the choice, generally evenings comprised a meal + dancing '=
till late every day. Paul W does guided us to the best places in the ar=
ea. Mad4Dancers me, Phil, Ali, Caroline,
Paul W and new member Gisele all went. The most popular age group for t=
he group would be in their mid 30s. Paul W will be setting up a web pag=
e with pictures & details soon for forthcoming holidays next year May/O=
ctober where space will be increased.
Needless to say it is highly recommended and will figure in my future l=
ist recommendations.
A special request to all people who email the list, which was submitted=
by one our our members for which I am in complete agreement and which =
I hope everyone will observe.
Can you put a short note in your next bulletin to discourage people fro=
m the growing practice of using unnecessary formatting on messages sent=
to the Mad4 list. Eg coloured backgrounds, exotic fonts, etc. These ma=
ke the file sizes much bigger than they
need to be, hence for those of us using free email they rapidly fill up=
our storage limit, it sometimes scrambles the message, and it makes pr=
inting more difficult. Sometimes the text gets almost obscured by these=
backgrounds when you print in monocrome.
Plain text messages are just as effective.
Here's what's on this week. Note Viktor & Lydia, perhaps the best jive =
dancers/teachers are at the King Alfred this Saturday.
