Hi folks
Camber proved to be another sizzler this weekend. The dancing and the m=
usic was great - but I can honestly say I have never been so hot. What'=
s wrong with a little fresh air? Anyway, the word is that the classes t=
his time were a little disappointing,
although I did enjoy Katy's the Dirty Dancing class. The consensus from=
people I spoken to is that the Dance Fusion class was the best, which =
followed an outstanding cabaret on the Saturday night.
A special request from a friend. Can anyone recommend a good ceroc-like=
club in the western suburbs of Paris? I would be very pleased to here =
if you have any suggestions.
Stacks on this Friday including Steve Nash's ball at the excellent Clai=
r Hall in Haywards Heath. This time the price has been slashed to just =
=A38, with no advance ticket required. Saturday sounds like a busy nigh=
t with a great theme for the Hove bash. Some
friends are planning to go up to the Rivoli, take your pick:
This week's recommendations are:
Friday 17th May
**Ceroc, Clair Hall, Perrymount Rd, Haywards Heath, =A38
-- Quality venue, for once without the expensive frills, run by Horsham=
Ceroc
**Ceroc, The Corn Exchange, High Street, Rochester, Kent
-- Wonderful ornate venue
**Friends Provident Social Club, Pixham Lane ? Modern Jive Swing & Blue=
s Freestyle
-- Friendly atmosphere, cheap bar
Saturday 18th May
**Dance Party, The Grand Ball for Vicars & Tarts, Hove Town Hall, Norto=
n Rd, Hove, 8-late
-- Great venue, top theme, dress if you dare, jive with a latin feel
**Jive Party, Rivoli Ballroom, 350 Brockley Rd, Brockley, SE4, 8-1am
-- Quality old fashioned venue, attrackes dancers, from Jive, Lindy and=
swing
**Rebel Roc, HG Wells, Church St. East, Woking
-- Large modern venue, ideal for dancing
**LeRoc, Martlets Hall, Civic Way, Burgess Hill
-- Good moden venue, some recent problems with numbers
This Week's music recommendation (from DavidW):
Fine Brown Frame - Lou Rawls
