Hi folks
If you're internet savy please log on to our website and edit your profile. You will soon be able to add your own JPEG pictures. Take a look at:
http://www.mad4dance.org. I'm trying to add a music recommendation to the weekly list and it would be great to have your suggestion (esp if it's recent).
Colin sends some information about his dirty dancing workshop and Saturday night dance, attached after main text.
There seems to be everything on this week which in a way is a real shame. Anyway, take advantage when you can, there's loads of choice...
This week's recommendations are:
Friday 19th April
**Rebel Roc, Civic Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley, Susssex, 8-12
-- Rebel Roc's newest venue with good atmosphere
**Ceroc, The Corn Exchange, High Street, 8 - midnight
-- fantastic ornate venue, with excellent dance floor
Saturday 20th April
**LeRoc, Ashtead P. M. Hall, Woodfield Lane (A24)
-- Freestyle Party Night
--includes 2-6pm Dirty Dancin Workshop Dave & Annalisa (call 01903 74 44 14 for details)
**LeRoc (Brighton), Martlets Hall, Civic Way
-- great moden dance venue
-- includes a special Cabaret By Uk Champs CLAYTON & JENINE
**Jive Party, Rivoli Ballroom, 350 Brockley Rd. SE4 Jive, 8pm - 1am
-- includes a swing LIVE BAND (tba)
-- Wonderful old fashioned venue which extracts experienced dancers from Jive, swing and Lindy
**RebelRoc, HG Wells suite, Church St East, Woking
-- Large venue, idea for dancing
** Dance Party, The David Lloyd Centre, Brighton Village Marina, Brighton, 8-12
-- Good modern venue with 2 dance floors, often for Jive/Swing, latin feel
This week's dance music recommendation (classic):
The Trammps - Disco Inferno
As ever, please make your own dance suggestion to the list by sending them to m4d-list@mad4dance.org.
All submissions will be copied to our website. Should you wish to be unsubscribed from this list send an email
to: m4d-list-admin@mad4dance.org or visit http://www.mad4dance.org/ and remove yourself.
Have a great weekend.
Paul
>From Colin Shaul (of Dorking LeRoc):
> Last few places remain for the afternoon workshop( another chance to get
> legally dirty on the dance floor, with individual moves and routines(ps we
> do not use mud!)
> The long term weather looks a bit dull for the weekend but you can brighten
> up yours by either joining for the day event or coming down in the evening
> for a fun night with the Dirty Dancin Cabaret, exceptional venue with one of
> the best dance floors in Surrey plus cheap bar & nibbles & refreshments, but
> not forgetting LeRoc "The Jive In Dance Co" own disco with some of the best
> music jivers would ever want to dance to!
